Welcome to LingoNavi Language Platform ("LingoNavi”), a global online platform that connects students with independent language teachers from around the world. By registering for an account, enrolling in lessons, or using our services, you agree to comply with the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before using the platform.
By creating an account or using the services of LingoNavi, you ("Student,” "Parent,” or "User”) agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
If you are a parent or legal guardian enrolling a minor, you also agree to be responsible for the minor’s compliance with these terms.
2.1 Students: LingoNavi is open to learners of all ages and levels. However, users under 18 years of age must have the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian.
2.2 Parents and Guardians: By enrolling a minor, you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian and that you consent to their participation in lessons provided through the LingoNavi platform.
3.1 Registration:
To access lessons, users must register on lingonavi.com, providing accurate and complete information (e.g., name, age, learning goals, and contact details).
3.2 Payment:
Payments for lessons are made directly through the platform using approved third-party payment processors. Lesson fees are determined by individual teachers.
3.3 Refund Policy:
Refunds may be available according to each teacher’s individual cancellation or refund policy. LingoNavi does not issue refunds directly, except in cases of verified technical or billing errors.
3.4 Taxes and Fees:
Users are responsible for any applicable taxes, transaction fees, or currency conversion costs related to their payments.
4.1 Lesson Materials:
All materials provided by teachers are for the personal use of enrolled students only and may not be copied, recorded, or distributed without permission.
4.2 Access to Lessons:
Students will have access to booked lessons through their LingoNavi account. Access may be suspended if payment is incomplete or if the user violates these Terms.
4.3 Platform Availability:
While LingoNavi strives to ensure uninterrupted service, occasional maintenance or technical issues may occur. We will make reasonable efforts to minimize disruptions.
5.1 Active Participation:
Students are expected to attend scheduled lessons on time, complete assigned work, and engage respectfully with teachers and other learners.
5.2 Technology Requirements:
Students must have access to a stable internet connection, a functioning device (computer, tablet, or smartphone), and appropriate communication tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet, etc.).
5.3 Code of Conduct:
All users must behave respectfully. Bullying, harassment, discriminatory behavior, or inappropriate language will not be tolerated.
5.4 Lesson Cancellation:
Cancellations or rescheduling must follow the policy of the individual teacher. Failure to notify a teacher within the required time may result in the lesson being marked as completed without refund.
5.5 Contacting Teachers:
Students and parents must communicate with teachers only through the LingoNavi platform or official channels. Personal contact outside the platform is not permitted.
5.6 Use of Recordings:
Students may not record or distribute lesson content without the express permission of the teacher and LingoNavi.
6.1 Independent Teachers:
Teachers on LingoNavi are independent contractors, not employees. They are responsible for creating, managing, and delivering their own lessons.
6.2 Professional Standards:
Teachers are expected to maintain professionalism, provide accurate information about their qualifications, and offer lessons consistent with their advertised standards.
6.3 Disputes:
In case of a dispute between a student and a teacher, LingoNavi may act as a neutral mediator but does not guarantee resolution or refunds unless platform policies are violated.
7.1 Data Collection:
We collect and store user information as described in our Privacy Policy. By using our platform, you consent to the collection and use of your data for legitimate operational purposes.
7.2 Data Security:
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data, though no online system is completely secure.
7.3 Third-Party Services:
Payments and communications may be processed through trusted third-party providers, each with their own privacy policies.
8.1 Violation of Terms:
LingoNavi reserves the right to suspend or terminate any user account for violations of these Terms, including non-payment, misconduct, or misuse of the platform.
8.2 Voluntary Account Closure:
Users may delete their accounts at any time through account settings or by contacting support. Refunds are subject to each teacher’s refund policy.
9.1 Platform Role:
LingoNavi acts as an intermediary connecting students and independent teachers. We are not responsible for the content, quality, or outcomes of individual lessons.
9.2 Limitation of Liability:
LingoNavi shall not be held liable for any direct or indirect damages, data loss, or personal injury resulting from platform use or lesson participation.
9.3 Force Majeure:
LingoNavi is not liable for service interruptions caused by events beyond our control, including natural disasters, pandemics, or technical failures.
LingoNavi may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any updates will be posted on our website. Continued use of the platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Japan.
